<REDACTED_1> (Let’s Get Cracked)

<REDACTED_1> was the name of my first ICPC team, which we made in the 2nd year of college. I didn't even know ICPC existed until the end of the 1st year.

<REDACTED_1> means going against the tide and winning anyways, even when the deck is stacked against you. It means winning no matter what.

I was a very underconfident kid, who believed he was averageβ€”so much so that I didn't even attempt a branch change. End of 1st year, I ended up participating in Google Code Jam qualifiers and solved all 4 problems. I was the only person in the whole college (across 4 years) to solve all 4 problems that year.

In the 2nd year, <REDACTED_1> was the best-performing team in our college. We got single-digit ranks in regionals afaik. We then made it to ICPC World Finals both in the 3rd and 4th year, with the team <REDACTED_2>.

Hey, I'm nil. I used to play drums, but now I code. I am primarily interested in unraveling the abstractions present in tech libraries. I aim to understand things from their fundamental principles and approach problem-solving from a top-down perspective. Currently, I work at a startup where I am developing a Flutter app for a medical device, writing Bluetooth modules for firmware, and ensuring that the AI models running on the device are optimized for real-time data.

I currently live in Bengaluru, but I aspire to eventually live in Shenzhen, Tel Aviv, and San Francisco. I created a Git repository for myself, even though I don't use it much - haha. In college, I led the media team and received recognition from Ashneer Grover for some impressive photos. Despite having no prior frontend/app development knowledge, I managed to build the MVP app for my new workplace in just three weeks.

Hey Prateek,

My name is Vivek Khatri. I am a coding professional and currently reside in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Although I have not yet decided where I want to settle down, I am certain about staying in India and striving to make it a better place. I initiated a community project at https://humansoftpot.com, which is currently stagnant. You can find my musings at https://musings.peculiarvivek.com and my tech blog at https://tech.peculiarvivek.com. I have experience working at multiple startups and developing the v1 of the product. My career may seem chaotic due to factors beyond my control, but it has certainly provided me with entertaining stories. I specialize in backend development, can create functional front-end applications (thanks to chatgpt/claude), and aspire to be in the top 1% of my profession. Additionally, I have ambitions of becoming an author in the near future. I find joy in deploying code to production, and my approach to building tech products is pragmatic. Keeping It Simple Stupid (KISS) is my life philosophy. I am excited to be here.

Best,
Vivek
